MedicalThe 96 Medical Group provides a wide variety of services and presently supports one of the larger outpatient workloads in the Air Force. The hospital also operates a satellite pharmacy located in the Base Exchange-Commissary area for easy one-stop shopping.

Eglin's hospital has enthusiastic Health Benefits Advisors available to assist beneficiaries with claims and filing procedures.

Eglin's hospital also offers smoking cessation classes as well as many other preventative medicine classes.

Elder CareService members coming to Okaloosa county have many resources in the local community to assist them with senior care issues. The lead agency for senior care in Okaloosa County is Bridgeway Center Senior Services. While the Emerald Coast is a popular vacation destination for tourists because of the mild winters, the summer gulf breeze, and diverse recreational activities, those same reasons (along with the 2 major military bases in the area) and the low cost of living make Okaloosa County a wonderful senior living and retirement area.

Bridgeway Center Senior Services is the LEAD AGENCY in Okaloosa County for state and federal grants and local United Way contributions, specializing in senior care in Okaloosa County, and have been doing so since 2005.

Bridgeway Center Senior Services work with the Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, and various local and federal agencies under a wide array of programs to provide needed services for residents age 60 and over.

Bridgeway Center Senior Services is licensed and insured. They have certified nursing assistants on staff, and their in-home senior care service providers receive extension training in personal and home care. They provide in-home services under authority of the State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. They are responsible for managing congregate and home delivered meals for many of our over 60 population. Bridgeway Center Senior Services provides meals, comprehensive in-home care, socialization and counseling activities to at-risk, homebound seniors throughout the community.

The State Of Florida also maintains an Elder Helpline - 1.800.963.5337. The Consumer Directed Care Program (CDC), another elder care program can be contacted by calling the CDC Program Coordinator (1.866.232.3733).
